I stayed the night @ his place and man did I ever sleep great! I don’t know what it was, probably a combination of jet lag, sleep deprivation and defiantly a little bit of island love that helped me through the night. Cousin Tommy as we have now become has the biggest T.V. possible in his flat. It was pretty much a bachelor pad for a 42-year-old islander. Ha-ha Something about the islanders, they are the most laid back group of people I have ever met (worse than Chileans, I didn’t think it possible) and man I have got to say that I love how they, specifically, Cousin Tommy treat you like family the second they get to know you. I think I am going to make it here, getting over the completely relaxed wing-it kind of attitude of course. :)
The trip to school was good; we picked up Lelani and stopped at none other than McDonalds for a burger. Getting to the school went smooth and my room looks like a jail cell but I don’t care to much cuz after all, who stays in the room during college.
Saturday morning was also very fun. We went to the City of temples (I think that’s what it was called) and walked around there for a while. From there we tried to make it to some lookout point but the buss broke down. The brakes stopped working, and I sure am glad they fixed them because the hill going into the swap meet was pretty steep. Go figure I didn’t like the swap meet, sHopPInG …Eh, But from there we went to the Perl Harbor memorial. That was great! I have always wanted to go there. It made me think of my grandpa’s as even bigger heroes in my life than I did before!
We then went on a little stroll around the Island just for cuz. Go figure, there were two vegan girls that were needless to say very into their ideas, and everything turned to the conversation of how eating anything that may be related to an animal was bad. Ya, It had to be with them when we would see a dead bird stuck between two fence post. I couldn’t help but laugh, it was great. Words cannot do justice to how funny I thought it was!
